As many of you know, Andrew and I have been working with the Dallas Stars this year and loving every minute of it. Shooting sports has always been fun for me and it’s not that much unlike shooting weddings in that you really have to anticipate the moment before it happens and be ready to capture the shot. Anyway, I thought I would post a few of my early season favorites…
And one Andrew took of me in action…

Congratulations to Myndi and Chris as their wedding was selected as a FEATURED wedding in the new Knot Texas magazine that just hit the newsstands! They had such a beautiful wedding and we had tons of amazing details to shoot! It always helps when you have awesome vendors to work with and we had some of my favorite folks working with us on this one! Here are the pages as well as a link to the online version…
I have had a crazy busy two weeks traveling and have tons of of photos to share with everyone in the next few days! While you are waiting,(and since it is Election time) I thought I’d post the SNL appearance of John McCain last night as it was pretty funny! Tina Fey does a great Sarah Palin for sure! Look for several blog posts this week including my fun engagement session in New York City last Thursday!

Andrew and myself were hired by the Dallas Stars to take this years photos for the NHL’s Dallas Star’s Planet Tan ICE girls a couple of months ago!(I have a ROUGH job, don’t I!) I waited till the team posted the images before blogging about them for obvious reasons. We had a great time working with the Stars management and the girls were awesome to work with as well!
A special thanks to my buddy Melissa Miller, who allowed us to invade her GORGEOUS home for a portion of the shoot! Anyway, here are just a few shots from the day, but visit www.dallasstars.com to see all of our shots!
Thanks again to the Dallas Stars for giving us the opportunity and to the girls for working with our “crazy” ideas!

I had a chanced to drive around Portland today and thought I would post a few of my adventures. The big wedding is tomorrow, so I decided to play a bit today and I took my baby camera along for the ride…
I picked up my car from Hertz and was ready to go!
Ok, a bit sappy here, but this is the furthest that Alycia and I have been apart in our whole relationship! Good thing for IChat on our Macbook Pros as it allows me to see and talk to my GORGEOUS girlfriend even though we are on separate coasts!(you gotta love technology!).
Chelsea and Curtis both work for NIKE, so they hooked me up with a special pass to shop at the Nike Employee Store! I had a blast checking everything out and I FULLY took advantage of the 50% off employee discount! Safe to say, I dropped a few hundred dollars on some cool new jerseys and sports wear!
NIKE’S Campus is REALLY cool as all the buildings are named for different NIKE athletes!
Goofing off around the NIKE campus…
I had dinner with my good friends Dan and Whitney of Bliss Studio in Portland and it was a lot of fun catching up with them!(The food was delicious too!) Thanks for the awesome dinner and Impromptu Jam Session you guys!!

I am soooooo excited that football is FINALLY back!! With high expectations for both the Cowboys and Sooners, this should be a FANTASTIC year for me!! In fact, several sources have my SOONERS winning it all this year! That is so exciting to hear, but I choose to take it one game at a time! The season starts on Saturday and YES, I will be dishing out the $30 for the pay per view as it will be cool to actually watch the game live for a change! Usually, I have weddings on most Saturdays and have to TIVO all the games as well as frantically avoid ALL media so that when I get home, I can watch the games without knowing any of the results! Also, I DO NOT EVER book any weddings on the OU/Texas weekend as that just wouldn’t be right, would it?
For all you fellow SOONER fans out there, here is one of my FAVORITE videos floating around as it really gets you into the football mood!! BOOMER SOONER!!
A few years ago, I shot the OU/Texas game and decided to make an album about the Rivalry! I entered it at WPPI and it WON 3rd Place Internationally! Shooting sports is VERY much like shooting weddings as you need to anticipate the moment before actually pressing the shutter and then you must be ready to get the shot when the moment arises. All the shots in the album were taken by me and I had a total blast! Too bad it doesn’t pay very well as being a sports shooter would be a fun gig! Here is the album that WON 3rd place…

OK, I thought I would post this likeness of me that one of my clients just sent me! How funny!! Maybe I should get a hairstyle more like this!! I swear I have the best and most fun brides!! Anyway, thanks for the laugh and the diversion Jen!! I was working non-stop all weekend editing weddings and designing albums and this totally made me smile today!
She also did one for Alycia, so check it out HERE if you want!

It’s been WAY too long a wait for football season, but it is FINALLY here!! I am also VERY excited that HBO’s Hardknocks will feature our beloved Dallas Cowboys again this year!! I LOVE this show as it takes a behind the scenes look at training camp and puts us right there in the middle of the action!
They usually follow around a few guys from start to finish and it’s especially cool to see them follow around someone who is fighting for a roster spot as you go through the ups and downs with that player! If you get a chance, check it out as it premieres this Wednesday, August 6th!!
GO COWBOYS!!
Here is the Trailer…

Let me just start off this post by saying that the GIN BLOSSOMS have always been one of my favorite bands! Seriously, my college friends and I knew almost all of their songs back in the 90’s! Well, Alycia’s friend Laura, who also happens to be the bride whose wedding I shot in Maui a couple of months ago, just happens to be the sister of Jesse Valenzuela, one of the main guitarists in the band!!
So, when the band came to Dallas a couple of weeks ago, I asked Laura if there was anyway I could get to meet them. Well, not only did her brother get us tickets to the concert, but he also invited me and Andrew to hang out in the band’s Tour Bus after the show!!! Ahhh the life of a rock band is pretty cool I must tell you!!
The best part is that Jesse gave me a huge hug and told me that the photos I took of his sister’s wedding in Hawaii were some of the most beautiful that he’d EVER seen! And then we talked about all getting together and playing golf when they are in town next as well as me possibly shooting their next CD cover next year!!! How cool is that!!!
Anyway, that was a really fun night and here are some photos as well as a cool little video I made from the front row with my little baby camera of the band performing “Hey Jealousy.” I REALLY wish I had brought my REAL camera!!
OK, I just HAD to make this non-photography related post!
I am sure most of you guys know the INCREDIBLE story of Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers, but if not, you SHOULD!! It really is amazing what he has come back from(Drugs, Multiple Suicide Attempts, Alcohol Addiction(He used to drink 1 bottle of Crown Royal a day!), and even blew through a $4 Million Dollar signing bonus, etc…after his parents and him got into a BAD car accident.
Josh is clean now(Against ALL odds), and is not only just back in baseball, but he is OWNING baseball right now. He has a STAGGERING 89 RBI and 20 Homeruns as of tonight and it’s not even the ALL-Star break yet! Tonight, he hit an incredible Walk-Off Homerun against one of the BEST closers in the game! Check it out!!(I must have jumped up 10 feet in the air as soon as he hit it!!)
The game-winning homerun was sweet as it was against the first place Angels! Josh is having such a great year, he will actually be a starter in the All-Star game next week and he totally deserves it!
Seriously, if you do not know his story, please check out the following Sports Illustrated Article they ran last month as it’s simply AMAZING and something that you usually only see in the movies! He really is one of the nicest guys on the team and you can just tell that everyone is rooting for him to succeed!
